Before reading this blog post I would recommend you read This if you haven’t already done that for that’s one way you can fully comprehend this post.
Permit me to say, this particular post is for those considering going into blogging or vlogging on full time basis or partime.
It is equally for students that would like to make extra cash especially if you are good at writing or good at content creation and like I promised in my last post, I will be alittle detailed in each one.
Affiliate Marketing
If you’ve been observant just a little bit, you might have observed that some blog posts have some links and mostly are highlighted pink in colour on this blog. These are my affiliate links .
In affiliate Marketing for bloggers you get paid by simply having an affiliation with any of the companies you have interest in.
Posting those links on your blog and when ever someone buys through your link, you are paid a certain commission, which most times for the companies this blog is affiliated with are at no extra cost to the you.
Some companies have good incentives while others may not and so far I am only affiliated to Bigscoots because I have used their services and can say they live up to their hype beside being very affordable for everyone interested in hosting their website/blog.
Whenever anyone purchases their hosting services through my Link they get a free domain name plus site security for a year at a very cheap rate.
Affiliate Marketing is really a passive income Avenue for anyone with or without website/ blog, there’s literally no tech savvy required to become an affiliate in blogging.
Being your own Marketer
There are blogs that sell ebooks on topics they are conversant with. For these bloggers, they advertise their own services on their blog.
COMPANY ADS
By company ads I mean, those companies that pay one for placing ads on one’s site. For most bloggers it’s Google adsense, monumetric, mediavine and Adthrive.
These companies are like middle men, you have to meet certain criteria to join them. For google adsense, it will be quality contents but not specific about traffic.
For monumetric, a site must have minimum of 10,000 pageviews in the last 30 days before one can join, for mediavine it’s 50,000 sessions in 30 days and Adthrive which is the boss for now in blogging money, it is 100,000 pageviews and to get these figures aren’t that difficult.
Adsense
This for me is where the bulk of making money of blogging comes from aside the previous ones already mentioned.
Adsense is easy to set up and make money from, for both bloggers and “YouTubers”. Because I want you to equally get paid by Google, I will be explaining how this works and how to set up your adsense account.
First you need to have Google account ie Google email account.
To create your AdSense account, follow these steps:
- Visit https://www.google.co.uk/adsense/start.
- Click Sign up now.
- Enter the URL of the site that you want to show ads on.
- Enter your email address.
- Choose whether you’d like AdSense to send you customised help and performance suggestions.I will recommend just like they would equally recommend that you choose Yes so that they can help you get more out of AdSense. You can change your contact settings later.
- Click Save and continue.
- Sign in to your Google account.
- Select your country or territory.
- Review and accept the AdSense Terms and Conditions.
- Click Create account. You’re now signed in to your new AdSense account.
Voila you have an adsense account, you should check your emails at intervals to wait for Google to activate your adsense account.
For some it takes days, some weeks and others months but panic not, once your account has been activated you are good to go.
Start or continue blogging and relax for goggle to advertise on your website and you get paid.
It’s another passive form of income earning for even periods that you may not be blogging, with consistent traffic your money keeps reeling in.
The minimum payment threshold is 100 dollars, it equally depends on your country and you can get paid after tax has been deducted if it’s a country there is a mandatory tax deduction.
Now goggle pays you based on the traffic generated to your website/ blog and on the adverts placed on your website especially when people click on those adverts.
The downside to it just like every thing in life, it can detect click baits and you can loose your Google account or be banned for life so best not to do the clicking yourself as a blogger.
Getting traffic to website/ blog is a full blog post on it’s own but it revolves around using your social media accounts…
Like Facebook, Instagram, pinterest, Twitter, tailwind and some more. Make sure to stay subscribed to be among the first to know how to increase traffic to your blog anytime I finally do blog about it.
Sponsored Ads
This is usually when one reaches out to companies of interest or when they reach out to you, to use your platform as a blogger or vlogger to advertise their services and products.
Truthfully some companies will turn you down if you don’t have enough traffic or followers but don’t worry keep up the blogging growth and they will come around.
Reminds me of when I had less than 1k followers on ig and some interesting companies told me point blank when I get upto 1k or more I should reach out again.
I had shared this with a friend some time later when we were analysing influencing job and the benefits. ?? you guessed right ,she laughed at me thinking I could get the company with less than 1k followers.
However I haven’t reached out to them again, well because I forgot and gracefully landed better ones.
Ehe using this blogging post to kindly ask to keep up the support and shop/ patronize from the sponsored ads below this post and others. Thank you in advance ?.
